Bowl of Beauty
Bowl of Beauty
It’s easy to see why "Bowl of Beauty" is consistently our best selling peony. If you watch British Gardening TV, you’ll know that Carol Klein considers this one of the finest peony cultivars available.
The bright pink outer petals and a frilly, lemon-butter cream center represent a stunning example of the Japanese flower form.
As the flower matures, the guard petals become a lighter pink and the center puff fades to cream, sometimes with glowing pink highlights. The overall effect is that one plant will simultaneously display flowers of many different shades. Beautiful!.
Some year, blooms will develop additional, pink central petals, giving the flowers an almost bomb-like form. See Pic 7 for an example
The flowers are large, puffy and airy enough to stand tall on the plant. No support required for this beauty!
As a bonus, in 2018 we learned that Bowl of Beauty withstands 90 degree+ temperatures better than most other peonies. During peak Bowl of Beauty flowering season, we had a week of 90-100 degree temps and Bowl of Beauty just kept flowering with only minimal sun/heat damage.
All bare-root peonies ship Sept-Oct.
